Walk Among the Wild Herds

This isn't a zoo—it's a journey back in time. Guided by World Wildlife Fund experts, you'll walk through natural grasslands where wild horses (tarpan descendants) and powerful aurochs graze exactly as their ancestors did thousands of years ago.

How to Get There

From Liepāja, take the A11 highway toward Klaipėda (~40 km). At the Kalnišķi bus stop, turn right and follow signs for "savvaļas zirgi" (wild horses).

What to Bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes (terrain can be uneven)
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Binoculars for wildlife viewing
  • Camera with zoom lens
  • Water bottle
